she then comes back with my card, after using it without authorization, and gets mouthy calling me rude. Since she stole my card off the table and failed to take the actual payment form I was going to use, I had to ask another waitress to get my card back. Mary just took it up a notch by literally swiping my credit card off my stuff, without a word, and ignored me calling her back. *edit* as I hadn't yet left the restaurant while writing this. Sad to see the decline of one of my favorite establishments. I hope that they regroup and retrain, as of this moment, we will likely not be coming back for quite awhile, if ever. Let me point out, we (my 17yr old son & I) just sat down with our plates. However, my simple question to our waitress, "Mary", of asking about said discontinuation, was told she isn't corporate and doesn't know. All bad choices that will effect the business. Such as changing to cold raw corn tortillas or discontinuing a staple such as fajita sauce. My original critique was on the poor business decision of changing staple items that make up. Wow, in my 20+ yrs of being a patron of BD's, from Chicago to DC and here in Lakeland, I haven't ever had an experience as I just had. The chicken was nothing amazing, however the beef was really tasty.Īlso noted that when I was going to the food stations I noticed that the salad bar was "discontinued" so I'm not sure why the option for it is is still listed on the menu. I moved the rest of the shrimp to the side and kept it moving. Now it was time to eat, I took one bite of a piece of the shrimp immediately spit it out. I then move along to get my bowl cooked, and the guy who did the cooking was particularly pleasant, I wish I would remember his name. Once I got to the station for the different sauces and spices I noticed an uncomfortable amount of gnats flying around the sauce station. I already had about 5 in the scoop so I just kept them and went along with building my bowl. As I'm at the protein section I noticed the shrimp smelled particularly loud/stinky for it to be this early in the morning. chicken, shrimp (prawns) and steak for my protein. I went a little after opening 11:15am and was promptly seated. I used to love coming to BD's Mongolian Grill when I was in the Lakeside Village area but this visit left a lot to be desired.
